New Zealand cricket commentator Ian Smith was in for a rude shock when a six hit out of the ground by Jesse Ryder hit what he thought was his car.
Smith was commentating in the Georgie Pie Super Smash T20 game between Otago and Wellington when Ryder smashed one straight over the deep square-leg fence for a six. The shot, hit off the bowling of Luke Fletcher, travelled all the way over the boundary and then outside the ground for a big six.
With the car park just outside the fence at Seddon Park in Hamilton, Smith looked and commentated in anguish as the ball sailed over to hit what he thought was his car. The ball left a dent on the top of the car.
Incidentally, Otago lost the game by three wickets and with two balls to spare.
Here's how it panned out!
